Rajinder Sachar

Rajindar Sachar (born 22 December 1923)[1] is an Indian lawyer and a former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. He was also a member of United Nations Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities. He has also served as a counsel for the People's Union for Civil Liberties. He chaired the Sachar Committee, constituted by the Government of India, which submitted a much debated report on the social, economic and educational status of Muslims in India. In July 2011, he was named as one of several "liberal" and "pseudo-secular" people who were regularly invited to anti-India events in the United States funded by the Pakistani ISI intelligence agency (via American citizen Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai) to push the Pakistani establishment's agenda on the Kashmir conflict as well as propagate false propaganda against India such as exaggerated claims of human rights abuses in Kashmir.[2][3][4][5][6]

He was detained by Delhi Police on 16 August, 2011 during the India Against Corruptions protest against corruption.[7]
